The first:

Crowded bus, people are piling over each other. There’s hardly any space between two persons, literally looks like beetle leaves binded together in a stack. 6 years old Sakshi is standing near a seat holding her moms hands. She’s already pissed off and it gets more difficult when someone is passing by. It’s a summer afternoon and things are getting messier with hot humid weather. Sakshi is trying to check the places passing by through the window standing near the seat. She just wants this difficult journey to be over soon. Suddenly, she startled with someone’s touch at her back. She looked back, an uncle is standing behind and smiling at her. She dint smile back as mom taught her not to interact with any stranger. She pepped again through the bus window. She realised, uncle is pressing her intentionally and he is moving “that” part against her back. She felt uncomfortable but could not understand why is he doing this. He stopped for a while, she sighed in relief. Now she’s feeling he’s also touching her back. She shook her body but he’s simply not stopping only. She felt terrible now, should she tell her mom who’s standing next to her. But why this uncle is doing so??? Should she cry?? He’s still pressing himself against her. She started sweating out of fear now.
“Sweetie, are you ok???” Her mom just felt something.
She looked at her mom and her mom realised something is not right. Suddenly, mom looked behind and gave a sharp look at that man. He gasped and made immediate move. Before Mom realises anything more, he moved towards door to get down. Sakshi saw him got off the bus in hurry and disappeared.

The second:

So many balloons and colourful decor around the house. Children are running across the hall and guests are busy in talking to each other. Sakshi’s brother Barun’s birthday today. Sakshi is a teenager now and a very responsible one indeed. Barun is turning 10 today and being her only sibling she’s trying her best to make his birthday the best. She’s helping her mom in kitchen in preparing the food plates along with the caterer. Barun studies in the same school with her and all teachers are invited too for the birthday party. Both hall and garden are full of guests, cake cutting is just done and dinner preparation is going on.
“Good evening Kabir Sir” Barun greeted Kabir sir as he entered the hall just.
“Happy birthday Barun” Kabir sir greeted back with a present handing over to him. Barun smiled with gleaming face and ran towards bedroom to keep the gift.
“Kabir sir, make yourself comfortable and you may get freshen up” Sakshi’s mom gave him a towel as he came from a long trip he told.
“Thank you Mam” Kabir sir headed towards washroom. Sakshi meanwhile was busy in distributing the snack plates to all guests in hall.
“Kabir sir must be sitting in dining hall, dnt forget to serve him ok” Sakshi’s mom reminded her.
Sakshi went searching for him and found him in her study room checking her books in bookshelf.
“Good evening sir, here is your plate” Sakshi handed him the plate and wanted to leave in hurry as she has to distribute more plates.
“Sakshi, which book you are reading these days” Kabir sir knows she reads a lot of books other than text books.
“I am reading Greek mythology sir, it’s full of mystery indeed”
“Greek mythology? That’s interesting, tell me more about it” Kabir hold her hand and pulled her close. Sakshi panicked.
“Tell me which character you liked the most in the book” Kabir’s eyes are all over her body though She is not able to realise it.
“I like Hercules, he’s strong and has a emotional side too” Sakshi not realising the motives of Kabir continues, “He is self made and always shines through out all his suffering” She realised Kabir is touching her body over her dress, she’s wearing a jacket and he’s trying to insert his hands inside the jacket. She started breathing heavily,
“What I am supposed to do, should I cry or scream??? But he’s our class teacher, he will ruin my marks. What will I do if he lies and put blames on me. Should I keep quiet?? Sakshi’s 14 years old brain stopped thinking. Kabir kissed her cheeks, she resisted but he continued to touch her all over.
“Sakshi, where are you?”Sakshi’s mom voice nearby. Kabir stopped everything in a second.
“What are you doing here?? Dint I tell you to distribute plates to all” Sakshi’s mom sounded very angry.
“It’s not her fault, I was asking her how’s study going on?” Kabir smiled lightly, “She’s the future of our school” his hands are on her shoulder now, patting her for her brilliance in academics.
“Go immediately, people are waiting” mom commanded, “Kabir sir, why Dnt you sit in hall with all other teachers??” Sakshi looked at her mom, she just realised “Mom knows everything”

The third:

Seminar was highly successful event for the team, all clients showed up and responded well. The Vice President was way too happy with this success and he congratulated each stakeholder of the seminar in the cocktail dinner followed by.
“Great job done my dear Sakshi” VP came to Sakshi and hugged her with joy and excitement. Sakhshi always considers him like a mentor,
“Thank you sir, it’s all I learnt from you only and all credit goes to the team, Cheers !!!”
“Cheers” all raised glasses merrily.
Party continued till midnight and all got drained with drinks and dance.
“I am calling it a night, you guys continue” Sakhshi is craving for a long deep sleep now.
“Well, I am done too, good night guys” VP too left along with Sakshi.
“I will drop you home, no need to book a cab Sakhshi”
Sakhshi fell asleep in VPs car as she is already hell tired and VPs driver anyways knows her place. She was kind of her deep sleep, suddenly got alarmed with some touch on her waist. Before she gets on her senses, VP grabbed her in his arms and started touching her. She screamed in shock,VPs driver got frightened and stopped the car suddenly too. VP came close to her, she smelled alcohol in his breath.
“What’s wrong Sakhshi, I thought you like me” VP has a surprise look on his face.
“Sir, I respect you like a mentor. How can you think of doing something like this to me” she burst out in tears.
“Common Sakshi, we all are grown ups, we can have fun sometimes. I have seen you in office giggling with all guys around. This is nothing new for you” VPs voice was so casual.
Sakhshi could not believe her ears listening these words.
“Being friendly with male friends doesn’t mean I am sleeping around with them OK? And how dare you to think of touching me even?? I will definitely take it up to HR” she screamed with top of her voice.
“Cut the crap,ok. I am Vice President and remember your career is in my hand. Company will never take any action to the man who brings millions of businesses. And listen, if you Dnt satisfy my needs, you are free to go but never expect your job to be safe here anymore” His voice was equally at the top.
Sakshi took a pause, she realised his every word is true and she can do nothing against him. In fact she may loose her job or can never get a better job anymore.
“I dnt care about my Job but I am not here to loose my integrity. I will definitely take it upto HR and will take actions on you” she jumped out of the car and vanished on the dark road hurriedly.

She had to leave her job after few days, VP did exactly what he said.

Summary:

3 stories of 3 age group women and yet so similar. Women at all ages have been facing sexual assaults since forever. No matter from what background they come or how educated or grown up they are, they suffer in silence in many such instances. Many stories of assault are lost in deep dark due to various social obligations.

My questions to all,
“Is this ever gonna stop”
“Who and how will this stop”
“Who’s next”

    1. That’s the main concern, many times women is in a situation they can’t even express what they are going through. They face such instances from very early age at times like I narrated in story. We need a complete mindset change for making world a better place for women. Thank you for your valuable comment !!!

  1. Thank you for sharing such an important topic. Sexual assault happens everywhere to women and speaking up is easier said than done. It’s one thing to speak up, and another for others to take women seriously. People generally want to shy away from talking about these incident. Hopefully this mindset changes and society becomes more open to discussing these issues and individual rights.

    1. It’s very unfortunate for all girls to experience such pain to go through at a very tender age only. Trust me, I can tell uncountable such incidences happened to many women I know. Thank you such much for supporting the cause and together May be we can bring some necessary changes in our society soon. Stay blessed ❤️❤️❤️
